It made for stunning viewing for the huge crowds with races going right down to the wire, particularly when Bradford?s Dean Harrison got in the mix. ?Not to be outdone the Sidecar crews put on a fantastic display of close racing around the 4.25 mile Billown course, somehow managing to put in breathtaking overtakes on even the narrowest parts of the course. ?A strong candidate for race of the meeting must be the clash between young-guns Dean Harrison and Jamie Hamilton on the SuperTwins which saw the lead swap at least a dozen times in just eight laps! ?The meeting marked the retirement from the road racing scene of stalwart Ian Lougher ? the most successful rider ever at the Southern 100.
